The government of the Netherlands Antilles frequently solicits his advice. He is currently involved in the ICT Platform of Curaçao, updating the government policy to facilitate the knowledge and creative society of Curaçao. His preferred research method for studying globalization is attending international conferences, especially in emerging markets. He recently visited Singapore and New Delhi.

Miguel Goede is panel speaker in session 4.5, Science Based Reports, Media and the Political Hype.

Miguel Goede: “After observing international trends one might conclude that the convergence of politics and media towards the reality show is universal. The words reality show and mediacracy have a negative connotation to them. But this is not correct, because although they have a dark side, it also holds the promise of direct or participative democracy in which the people play an active role in their governance. This all might bring us closer to President Lincoln’s “government of the people, by the people for the people”. The realization of the norm will be also furthered with the development of ICT and with it e-elections.”
